Today I wore a simple black and white outfit and added this crazy gorgeous bag that’s currently my favorite.  I love the bohemian feel and that it adds tons of character to any look. I’ll be showing the whole outfit another day, because today it’s all about the bag:)

For those who follow me on Instagram (@casadelola, follow me!!), you know that I am a flower-aholic, as I’m constantly posting my fresh flower arrangements there. I confess that’s definitely my  #1 guilty pleasure and as long as I can afford it, I won’t live without it.

With spring here the outside flowers also are in bloom, bringing extra reasons for me to smile. This is what my house looks like now and I couldn’t be happier.

To celebrate my love’s birthday, I surprised him on Friday with a mini vacation to Eagle Rock, an amazing ski/golf resort near my hometown here in PA. We’ve been there many times, as it is our favorite ski spot in the area, but this was our first time staying over and we loved it.

The main goal for this vacation was simple: to relax in a secluded place. Even though we were celebrating Aaron’s birthday the surprise was also enjoyed by me, hehehehe, from the breathtaking view from our room, to the exceptional service, to the goddess couples massage, we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

The minute we arrived I got into relaxation mode:)

We had an awesome dinner experience starting with our favorite, French onion soup and finishing it with sea salt caramel birthday cake.

Their gorgeous golf course serves as the view for the restaurant.

Eagle Rock is surrounded by these gigantic stones everywhere.

A Swedish couples massage wrapped our mini vacay in style. So long Eagle rock, until next time!

It was a gorgeous day yesterday and my neighbor/super friend was craving some Thai food and invited me to tag along to Thai Thai (Downtown Wilkes Barre). I suggested that we did some shopping before eating, so we stopped by the mall and bought really cute jewelry (great sale at JCP) for the spring, like the earrings I am wearing in the pics.

Ontem o dia estava lindo (fresquinho e ensolarado) e minha vizinha/amiga me convidou para comer num restaurante Tailandês MARAVILHOSO aqui na minha cidade. Antes de almoçar, fomos no mall e fizemos umas comprinhas de

bijouterias na JCP que por sinal está com uma promoção maravilhosa (além de bijoux por $5, descontos de 20% em tudo, até amanhã).

Ok so this is going to be my first attempt to write my own recipe yeah! I made this salad once, and it was one of those days that you just throw together everything available on your fridge, but the result was so amazing that I had to share with you guys. I am no chef, so forgive me if this is not the proper way to write a recipe, but I did my best and I hope you all enjoy it!

P.s.- I named it the “Lola salad”, of course. lol

Ingredients for 2:

• 8 small potatoes (I used white)

• ½ bag of ready to cook green beans, trimmed

• 1 tablespoon of olive oil

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 2 (6-ounce) steaks of your choice (tender please!)

• 2 cups of fresh spinach

• 2 hard-boiled large eggs, cut in halves

• 2 tablespoons of capers

• ½ cup of chopped red onion

• 10 basil leaves

• Dressing of your choice (I used ranch)

Preparation

1. Cut the potatoes, leaving skin on, in quarters and sauté them in olive oil for about 3 minutes. When the potatoes look a bit browned add 1 cup of water and lower the heat to medium. Add the green beans and cook for another 3 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

2. Season the steak with sea salt and pepper to taste and grill it over medium heat to desired degree of doneness.

3. Arrange spinach on 2 serving plates. Drain the potatoes and green beans; arrange potatoes, green beans, egg and basil over spinach. Top each salad with sliced steak; sprinkle with capers and onions. Drizzle with the dressing of your choice.

For the “Lately I’ve Bought” this week I want to share with you a couple of darling products I’ve added to my daily beauty regimen and instantly became favorites. Both products are very affordable and you can find them at major supermarkets and pharmacies.

The first one, Revitalift Miracle Blur by L’Oreal, was given to me by a Glamour magazine beauty ambassador. According to L’Oreal the product is supposed to instantly blur lines, wrinkles and pores. My first impression was that it was…thick. But, despite the consistency of the cream, it felt smooth and silky once it was on my skin. After trying it for a few days I found that applying it after the moisturizer and under the makeup, it works best, but I am also loving it alone as a sunscreen (SPF 30). Definitely helps the battle for beautiful looking skin! Around $20 at major pharmacies and supermarkets.

The second, Clean and Clear Morning Burst facial cleanser by Johnson & Johnson was recommended by my Brazilian dermatologist and I instantly became addicted. Beside the very fresh scent, there is a cool tingly feeling when the beads burst on your face- very invigorating. It definitely feels like it gets rid of dirt and oil in my pores. It also removes makeup effectively and the best of all it only costs around $ 6.50. You can find it in almost any pharmacy or supermarket.

Estampa florida, sem dúvida, será o must dessa primavera. Acabei de comprar essa calça na Guess e estou apaixonadíssima com sua mistura de cores. Como o clima aqui no Norte continua friozinho, escolhi uma camisa jeans de manga comprida e mantive o resto do look simples, já que a calça sozinha é muita informação.

A great pair of floral jeans is a must for spring and I’m loving all of the mixtures of colors on my new pair. Since it’s still chilly out, I chose a long sleeve denim shirt to go with it, keeping the rest of the outfit simple and clean.

I love wearing outfits that can easily transition from day to night or casual to dressy with just the quick swap of accessories. Figuring out how to do that helps me get more use out of my closet without having to buy more clothes.

Here’s an example of an outfit worn two ways, the first for a more serious event like a business dinner and the second to a more relaxed and casual event like drinks with friends, all done by simply changing the accessories.

I played with my hair here, putting it to one side for a more serious look. Hair up also works.

With the hair down it makes the look more relaxed.

Adding a jeans jacket and a colorful clutch takes all the seriousness away from the look and adds more fun to an otherwise plain outfit.

P.s- When wearing all black try to mix different fabrics and textures, that way it looks less like you are wearing a uniform and more like you put a little effort into your outfit.

I had tons of fun shooting with Eddie Donlin at his studio, I am learning how to be more comfortable in front of the camera every time (America Next Top Model here I come!! hahahaha). If anyone around NEPA is interested to work with Ed contact him here.
