Oi amores, desculpem a falta de posts essa semana, acabei de voltar de NYC e apesar de tentar postar de la, a correria foi tanta que so agora tive tempo. Fiz essa viagem especialmente para participar pela primeira vez do Brazilian Film Festival, porem tanta coisa bacana aconteceu que vou ter posts da Big Apple para vocês o mês inteiro, rs!

O festival começou na quarta e vai ate sabado, com uma super festa de encerramento no Central Park Domingo, mais detalhes aqui. Eu fui no primeiro dia e assisti o filme “Colegas” do diretor Marcelo Galvão, e gente do céu: que filme bom (se preparem para morrer de rir), recomendo demais! Quem estiver em New York não pode perder esse evento que alem de conter filmes maravilhosos, ainda conta com a presença de alguns atores e diretores dos mesmos para responder as perguntas de vocês. O maximo ne? Vale muito a pena conferir!

Quem mora em Nova York sabe que programas culturais são sempre uma opção certa para quem quer aproveitar o tempo livre. A programação cultural de verão da cidade  é sempre recheada de muitos shows, festivais, exposições, etc. Esse ano vou tentar participar de muitos eventos bacanas e dar o máximo possível de dicas para vocês. Para abrir com chave de ouro, semana que vem vou participar do 11^a Festival de Cinema Brasileiro de Nova Iorque onde Casa de Lola foi convidada para cobrir o evento (so exciting!).

O evento volta ao Tribeca Theater nos dias 12 ao dia 16 de junho. Dessa vez o festival contará com uma programação recheada com a exibições dos filmes brazucas mais aclamados do circuito de cinema brasileiro, atrações musicais e até mesmo um amistoso de futebol com astro Bebeto. Legal, né? Tudo em um clima super festivo  que vai rolar de quarta à domingo.

Entre os filmes em cartaz vão estar na programação vários longas e curtas-metragens – filmes de ficção, drama, comédias e documentários inéditos na Big Apple, como De Pernas Para o Ar II, a comédia considerada um dos filmes nacionais de melhor bilheteria no ano de 2013. Eu particularmente estou super excited para assistir Faroeste Caboclo, o filme baseado em uma das músicas de Renato Russo que eu mais amo.  Também mal posso esperar para assistir Colegas, que conta com três atores com Síndrome de Down, incluindo Ariel Goldenberg, que mobilizou uma campanha nas redes sociais que o levou a conhecer o astro americano Sean Pean. Lembram?

Para o encerramento no domingo um super show gratuito da maravilhosa Preta Gil no SummerStage, palco montado anualmente no Central Park, onde também serão anunciados os vencedores do festival e também a exibição do filme Rio 2096 – Uma história de Amor e Furia de luiz Bolognesi.

With this crazy weather up here (read PA) it’s been hard to dress for the right weather since one day it’s raining, the next is chilly and yet another is extremely hot. I confess that I haven’t bought anything for the summer yet and I will only do that when the hot days arrive (and stick around for at least one week).

Anyhow, the mixing of precipitations and confusing climate recently inspired this look: faux leather in homage of the rain; long sleeves thinking of the cold days and bare legs dreaming of summer!

O clima aqui na Pennsylvania continua doido. Um dia chove, no outro faz frio e o seguinte faz um calor danado. Eu ainda nem me arrisquei a comprar nada para o verão, por enquanto vou só me virando com o que tenho no acervo das outras estações.

O look de hoje foi inspirado nessa mistura “loka” de climas: saia de couro fake pensando na chuva; camisa de manga longa em homenagem ao frio e pernocas de fora sonhando com o verão! Rsrs. Espero que gostem!

O CFDA Fashion Awards, evento que premia os melhores da indústria da moda, tem um dos melhores red carpets na minha opinião; porem o prêmio que rolou ontem em Nova York me deixou um pouco decepcionada. Como não gosto muito de fazer críticas negativas aqui no blog, prefiro falar que os poderosos do mundo da moda tiveram preguiça na hora de escolher seus looks, hahaha.

De qualquer forma no meio de tantos man repellers, consegui escolher 4 looks que me deixaram babando e todas usando branco. Vejam só:

The CFDA Fashion Awards always bring out the best in cutting-edge style, but last night’s event was an exception, in fact a big disappointment in my humble opinion. As a believer that if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all, let’s just say that the “who is who” of the fashion world were just being lazy Monday night.

However, in the midst of a room filled with many man repellers, I managed to find four ladies who looked absolutely stunning from head to toe and, coincidently, all of them were wearing white. Take a look:

Model Joan Smalls wore a Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Resort 2014.

Erin Wasson looked edgy and elegant in Alexander Wang.

Donna Karan looked sleek wearing her own design.

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio looked perfection in a backless Kaufmanfranco top and matching maxi skirt.

If you have been looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth without derailing your entire diet then try these!!
The only ingredients you will need are a bag of dark chocolate chips and a jar of almond butter. It can also be made with peanut butter or cashew butter depending on what your favorite is.

*Before starting get an 8×8 square pan and line it with tinfoil including the sides of the dish.

• First melt the bag of dark chocolate chips in a pan on the stove on low heat. Once melted immediately add the almond butter and stir until blended together.

• Next pour mixture into the tinfoil lined pan, scraping sides of pan with spatula. Cover with tinfoil and place in refrigerator.

• Let set at least two hours and then remove and cut into small bite size pieces.

• Put pieces in a container or freezer bag and store in freezer.

* You can also add things such as shredded raw coconut or chopped nuts to the top of the mixture after you pour it into the pan. These are still heathy options and add a bit of texture.

These are perfect for anyone who is committed to eating clean and living a healthy lifestyle. The sugar in the dark chocolate is minimal ( look for one with the highest percentage of cacao). The almond butter or peanut butter used is a healthy fat and also contains protein. The reason for freezing them is it takes longer for you to eat them and after one or two your sweet tooth is satisfied and you haven’t blown your diet for the day! So enjoy a couple of these simple and delicious little treats without having to feel a bit bad about it!

Lately it seems that every fabulous pair of shoes I come across in the fashion blogs, turn out to be from Zara. It was love at first site when I spotted those at the brand’s web site last week, but since the weather hasn’t really been cooperating here, today was the first day I could wear my new babies. I’m head over heels in love with them, literally, lol. Have a great day!

Ola meninas, dica maravilhosa de produtos capilares que estou usando e amando. Como o texto estava muito grande para traduzir, resolvi colocar dois links de 2 blogs que eu adoro falando dos mesmos produtos  em Portugues aqui e aqui. Beijao

Ever since I got my highlights done, I’ve been taking extra care of my hair; I am a firm believer that any chemical treatment WILL damage the locks some how, so I recommend prevention.

On the search for a great hair care line, a friend of mine recommended me to use the brand Joico after any chemical treatment. Even though my hair wasn’t really damaged, I decided to buy it for prevention and I feel my hair is stronger and healthier because of it.

The line’s K-PAK is considered the damaged hair hero and according to the brand it is “the most powerful reconstructive technologies known to hair—to repair and strengthen hair precisely where it needs it, when it needs it,” and I agree! As you all know I wouldn’t be writing a review if I didn’t approve of a product, so YES girls, it’s great and worth every penny if your hair is need of a boost.

There are tons of different products in their line, for every problem out there caused by chemical treatments, read about all of them on the brand’s web site, here. Since my hair isn’t really damaged and I am only using for prevention I only bought the K-PAK Clarify shampoo, which I am alternating with Joico’s Color Endure shampoo (for long lasting color) and the K-PAK Intense Hydrator, to replenish moisture.

Judging by all the compliments I’ve been getting about my hair and how shinny and healthy it looks, I have to say that I am really pleased with these products and that you guys are going to love it!

I alternate between both shampoos.

I leave in the intense hydrator for about 5 minutes before applying conditioner (from another brand, which i will review it later.)

I love and highly recommend these products! I hope you do too!!

Sabe aquele vestido que você coloca e que se sente linda e poderosa? Eu me senti bem assim quando coloquei esse vestido belíssimo de renda da Ana Maria Couture. Eu ganhei ele da própria designer (#thanks Ana) e estou apaixonadíssima pelo fato de ser elegante e sexy ao mesmo tempo. Acredito que o detalhe das costas nuas deixou o vestido ainda mais lindo.

You know when you put something on it and instantly felt beautiful and powerful? That happened to me as soon as I put on this lace dress by AnaMaria Couture. I got it as a gift by the designer herself (#thanks Ana) and I’m completely in love with how sexy and classy it is. The low cut in the back is definitely the highlight of the dress, making it even more pretty.

Today I wore a simple black and white outfit and added this crazy gorgeous bag that’s currently my favorite.  I love the bohemian feel and that it adds tons of character to any look. I’ll be showing the whole outfit another day, because today it’s all about the bag:)
