The first fall trend is no strange to us. In fact, bold lips have been a trend for quite sometime now. As seen in the runway shows many fashion houses like Gucci, Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and Jill Sander brought sexy and elegant lips to spice up the cool weather. That means colors ranging from burgundy, deep red and matte red to orange, plum, and wine.
I am excited to wear the “vamp look” this season; however, don’t do it in the middle of the day, unless you are going to a twilight convention!
If the focal point of your makeup is your lips, keep the rest simple with pale blush, eyeliner and mascara. Two or three layers will do to create those spidery sexy lashes.
On the other extreme, the nude makeup look as seen at the Valentino, YSL, Marc Jacobs, Versace and Balmain shows is also well known on the beauty trend scene. Although this sounds likes it’s effortless, this type of look requires lots of work. To create the nude feel, you are going to need a lot of coverage. Well, unless you’re lucky enough to have that natural flawless skin. (Jealousy moment!).
The simplest looks are, sometimes, harder to master. The “flawless-skin-look“ can be achieved with a good foundation. However, it is not an easy job to find the perfect foundation for your skin and it requires lots of experimenting. The trick is to know your skin well and what its needs are. Also, putting a lot of foundation on your face can age you, so be careful.
Bold eyebrows were one of the highlights this season, as they frame our faces giving the makeup a polished finish. Some people choose to skip or they just don’t care about the brows while doing their makeup and that’s a big mistake! To achieve the bold brows the brow pencil is your best bet. One more thing, I have one very special trick: after filling any gaps, spray some hairspray on the eyebrow brush and gently brush over your brows to set it into place.
Are you ready to try these trends? Do you have a red lipstick that is your absolute favorite in the whole world? Don’t forget to share it with me!

Beauty Picks:
Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation: This foundation makes your skin look like glowing from inside out. It covers everything up without looking cakey and unnatural. Coverage is buildable in areas where you need it to be. If you’re looking for a great foundation, you’ve found it.
Diorshow Brow Pencil: I think eyebrows make or break your face symmetry. I have been taking care of mine since I was a teenager. I’ve tried various eyebrow stylers and most are terrible and fake looking. Dior’s is just right! The only thing I had to get used to (because it bothered me in the beginning), was its ultra fine shape. I was so used to the ones with the medium pen-like shape. A week ago, I put it on early in the morning to run some errands. I had to walk a lot that day under a hundred-degree weather (Do I need to mention humidity too?) and, the amount of sweat and rubbing that occurred didn’t smudge the brow liner at all. It not only stays on well, but it also looks natural.
Poppy King for J. Crew lipstick: While looking at J. Crew catalogues, their orange-ish lipstick on their beautiful models always caught my attention. The search for finding something similar is finally over. Lipstick guru Poppy King, also known as the Lipstick Queen”, created this desirable coral color just for us. At J. Crew’s Web site, the lipstick is described as “understated and polished yet decidedly glamorous, it’s exactly what we (women) look for in a lip color.” The only problem is that the tremendous success made this lipstick backorder through January 2012.
MAC lipsticks Diva and Ruby Woo: Diva is what I recommend if you would like to recreate the vamp look seen at the fall runway shows. It’s a deep intense color; almost like that stain that red wine sometimes leaves on our lips. The heavier you apply it, the more intense the color will be because it’s a matte lipstick. Ruby Woo is also a matte lipstick and it’s very known around celebrities and makeup artists. I believe it’s the best lipstick to create the iconic pin-up red lips. This sexy and elegant lipstick is definitely a must-have this season.
